About Ajarn Paul Whitrod
Paul whitrod has been training in martial arts for more than 35 years. Starting at 9 years old with unarmed combat as it was called then at fairbain hall East London, as well as boxing at the same place. But his real study began when he was 13 in 1973 with Kyoshinkai karate. he later moved onto Southern Mantis kung fu at 15. At 20 he was going to make a decision either go to Thailand and learn Thai boxing or Hong Kong to as his master went back to Hong Kong, he decided to go to Hong Kong, to complete his training and there he stayed at his Grandmaster Yip shui home in 1980 after 13 years training in southern mantis he was awarded UK representative of the Chow Gar Praying Mantis kung fu.
from 1990 onwards he began studying other arts such as hsing yi Chuan/Ba Gua. Indian tekkan kalari and Thai martial arts in 1999. Indian sub mission wrestling/BJJ.
Of his Thai Martial arts training was at the Buddhai Sawan Association. One of the most famous Krabi Krabong Associations in Thailand. His teacher is Grandmaster Ajarn Pramote mesamana. At Buddhai Sawan he studied Muay Boran under Colonel Nattapong Buayam reaching the grade of Mongkol Thong.
he trains at some of the most famous Thai boxing gyms, namely sasipra gym and jittys gym
Currently he holds 7th degree Gold Sash in the art of Krabi Krabong since 2009. he represents Grandmaster Ajarn Pramote in UK. He continues to travel/train and promote all these arts
